I will likely be going with the CW. I'd like to put together a nice custom kit, but I think for now I'll have to just go with an 80mm lens, waist-level finder and 6x6 back I'd like to add more lenses and a 6x4. The C does not have a user-changeable focussing screen. The CM does. The "M" means "modified" from the original design. The CM's were made beginning in , but in they made the C with the changeable screen but did not yet rename the camera.

This has come to be known as the "transitional body," i. My C has a split-screen focus that I like, but I don't know if it was the original screen. The original screens were supposedly not very bright. When people said this, I was always confused because mine seemed fine. I supposed that my screen may have been changed along the way.

It's so bright you hardly have to use the magnifier in the WLF to focus. The purpose of all this is to say that you should only buy a C if you get a super deal. If you can get a C that already has a bright-screen, then buy it and don't look back. In practice, I don't think many people swap their focussing screens in and out very much.

There is a small light fall of to the top of the Picture viewed on the fokusing screen, because the mirror of the CM is smaler. I did not notice until I read in the internet. I did not end up bidding on a Yashicamat, as they seem to go for I did look on KEH, which seems like it has a pretty good reputation. They have a Rollei Twin Lens Reflex, this 2. I know that many folks like them, this must be in good shape. They also have a Rolleicord va, I think it is called.

Anyway, I would have to learn more about this to just go out and buy a Rolleicord. I become bewildered by the many models. There are so many folks that like the TLR by Rollei, that I am looking at these on various second hand sellers sites. It would be nice if there were a camera dealer nearby that had a Rollei TLR. Last time I went, there was a Hasselblad SuperWide C, I think it was called, which got me interested, but it seemed to me like the lens had some scratches, and I just did not feel like paying the or what ever it was, given the lens condition.
